Yay RAM
Well, I mentioned the other day that I went to get some more RAM for my computer (a laptop for what it’s worth), but things didn’t go quite as I had hoped. To shorten an otherwise long rant, I asked for exactly what I wanted, and they managed to give me Desktop, not notebook, RAM. Now, this is partially my fault I suppose, I didn’t really look at the package after he had gotten it, he just brought it over to the register and I paid. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized the mistake. I went back today (to Best Buy, though a different one from where I had bought the RAM originally) and figured I’d just have them install it for me so they didn’t screw it up. It worked…in the sense that they didn’t mess up the computer, though I have to question this supposed “Geek Squad” and their way of charging for installation. (I got charged an installation fee for each 512 stick they put in, and it takes all of 5 seconds to do so.) Laziness stopped me from doing it on my own, that and the fact that it was still cheaper for me to pay them than it was for me to spend money on gas driving back and forth over and over again as they screw things up. Anyway, I’m hoping this alleviates some problems with lag and general slowness while playing some games.
