Save the Babies!

Just say no to raiding. Raiding guilds are what makes MMOs bad. They represent all that is wrong with the gaming (sub)culture. Why are raiding guilds so bad? Let’s take a look at a list of simple reasons:

  1. They (much like gold farmers and botters) destory in-game economies. It is a proven fact that all “hardcore” raiders have no full time jobs, no families and use their toilet as a computer chair. This means that they are online constantly and endlessly grind the rarest/best items and increase the price drastically for other players to buy.
  2. They unbalance PvP. Since raiders only actually raid about 4 hours on any given day they spend their other 20 hours (because they are on 24/7, more on that later) online either grinding (see above) or PvPing. Raiding gear is so far above and beyond any normal gear that even if a player has three times the skill and twice the luck of a raider they are doomed to not being able to even hurt the other player. Raiding gear is completely invulnerable to damage and the weapons they have are capable of ungodly damage output. The only people who can damage those in raid gear or other people in raid gear. The problem with that is…
  3. All raiders are out to screw over the “little guy”. It is a proven fact that raiders don’t attack other raiders, they only attack people who don’t raid because they are an easy victory (raiders aren’t in the game for the fun of a good challenge, they are in it only to show off their “phat lewtz”). In fact raiders often purposely abandon non-raiders if they see that they will face another group of raiders. This is because they are so worried about the shine of their weapons and armor that any sort of battle where the possibility of damage is involved is considered too risky.
  4. Raiders promote an unhealthy lifestyle. Sitting at a computer 24/7 is a serious problem. Also, considering the average diet for a raider is potato chips and some drink high in sugar and caffeine they promote obesity. And let’s not forget that raiders are also notorious for their habit of eating babies (provides the necessary protein).

So please, remember folks, don’t say no to raiding for me, do it for the children!

Nice article, I have a buddy that weightlifts and is a huge EQ hardcore guy. He eats about 3 to four babies a day to gain muscle mass.
