Cat Durids are in Fact for Fite

As I have mentioned before my main character in World of Warcraft is a Druid, at level 70. I have been Restoration specced leveling all the way from 10-70. Tonight my guild was running Black Morass, an instance in the Caverns of Time, and one that really requires 3 strong damage classes a tank and a healer. A priest was healing the group leaving me to do damage, but even in cat form with some different gear on I couldn’t put out the damage necessary for us to beat the instance. We wiped several times and it really wasn’t looking too good, so I was sent off to respec to feral to see if that would help the cause.

I’d never been feral, in fact, I didn’t have any huge desire to go feral at any point (though I am currently leveling another druid who I planned on putting as feral.) I figured it would be some help to the group though, and the guild at least for a time, so I went for it and spent a little gold hoping to be able to beat the instance and move on (to Karazhan as that is what I was in there for, to get the key to the raid instance.)

Now, I’m not sure if I want to go back. My feral gear isn’t bad, but it isn’t exactly incredible either, but even though that is the case I still do ridiculous amounts of damage. Having played a tank and a healer (Warrior/Druid) as my classes to 60+ I’d never really spent much time as a damage class but it really is a ton of fun. Looking at myself, on those damage meters, well above others was something I’d never experienced and watching those huge crits fly by was incredible.

I’m sure I will be respeccing back to restoration in the not to distant future, but I must say to all those druids who are feral specced, you certainly have the good life. It will definitely be hard to part with the extra damage and critical strike rating, not to mention the Leader of the Pack buff among others.

I’ll probably be putting up a video of myself playing feral doing some of the quests in Shadowmoon Valley just to show off how much damage I am doing.

Yeah big props for doing that. Three wipes/resets of that instance because we really did not put out the DPS we needed and then a simple shift of add killers and your respec killed the crap out of that. For those of you who want to hate the elite portal keepers and the bosses were so fast that I as a healer never entered a fight with less then 85% mana because I could sit and drink after each one. And that is no easy feat as I am sure anyone who has done it knows.

You should give tips for leveling, even if they aren’t the best tips.
