Adventures in Karazhan
Tonight my guild went into Karazhan for our first (real) attempt (though I wasn’t along it seems some people went in last night and cleared a bit of the trash.) It didn’t go well. That’s not to say we did horribly, we just didn’t do as well as we wanted to, or as I believe we could have. Part of that was probably due to the fact that we went in with nine people. I truly believe that having an extra person would have made things easier the extra damage we could have put out would have been helpful.
Also, we didn’t pot up. It may seem silly to mention this, but a lot of other groups are going into the dungeon with a ton of consumables on them and burning them all to get through. We don’t really want to do that. It’s not a matter of not having the potions (we seem to have an endless supply of alchemists in the guild) it’s just a matter of wanting to beat content ourselves without needing the potions.
I was along. As a healer I am proficient at my job, but the mobs in Karazhan seem to require a different style of healing (at least with the gear we are going in with) it is what I like to call spam healing. Druids are not spam healers. We have no Flash of Light or Flash Heal spells, like a Paladin or Priest would, and for that reason, I think Druids are much less useful than they otherwise would be. I am specced far enough into Restoration that I have Tree of Life form, and I think, after some discussion, I may end up using it (Tree of Life is a pathetically worthless form that is not really worth the talent point you put into it, however, it does decrease mana cost of my HoT spells.)
All in all, I have no doubt that we will be able to conquer Karazhan without too much work, we spent from what I can tell, under two hours in the instance and, though not always the case, we generally got better each time. If not for a ridiculous respawn rate, we would have easily bested the instance.
